We are committed to protecting people’s privacy. We will only use the information that we collect lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 25th May 2018. We collect information about an individual for the following reasons: 1. To maintain the membership list 2. To respond to your request for information 3. To provide pastoral support 4. To inform you of activities of the church 5. To enable emergency contact to be made 6. To communicate with preachers and organisations about specific meetings 7. To contact or pay suppliers and contractors The type of information we will collect includes: · name and title · home address · email address · land line number · mobile number · D of B (if under 16) In addition the following may be necessary: · emergency contact details (if appropriate) · the youth leaders may record additional information to ensure a child’s safety · the treasurer will record bank details (if an individual asks him and only if it is necessary) · the pastor, assistant pastor and elders may record other details with an individuals permission · the safeguarding officer will record information necessary for DBS checks through CCPAS We will never collect additional information about an individual without informing them of this beforehand. The data we hold will be accurate and up to date. An individual can check the information that we hold about them by writing or emailing. If they find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information that we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal procedures and the law. We do not carry out fundraising for church finances and so will never contact anyone personally by any means including mail, telephone or email seeking donations. We will not share personal information with any third party, unless required to do so by an order of a UK court. The pastor, assistant pastor and elders will have access to all personal data and will ensure that the policy will be followed. Please contact us if you have any concerns. |
Protection PolicySafeguarding and Safety Policy
We are committed to provide the highest possible quality of care for children and all adults in a Christian environment. We look to ensure and safeguard the welfare of children and vulnerable adults by protecting them from physical, emotional or sexual abuse and neglect. The Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Elders and Trustees have the overall responsibility for implementing the policy and have appointed a Child Safety Coordinator (CSC) and deputy who have key roles in the management of the practices. Our policy is guided and overseen by Thirtyone:Eight (formerly CCPAS) who support all Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for workers. A policy and practice manual has been issued and is maintained, which covers · Policy Statement · Premises · Equipment · Transport · Trips and Camps · Accidents and Health · Insurance · Workers · Response to Allegations or Suspicion of Abuse · Elders responsibility regarding offenders The full policy can be made available on request.
